ARRIVAL
What to expect when coming in person
When you arrive, drive up through the wooden gates and park on the gravel drive in front of the sign on the fence. Please wait in your vehicle until your appointment. There is a wide, sloping paved path up towards the front door of my house; my clinic double glass doors are on the left.
During your appointment you may hear my dogs, but they will be shut away. If you are allergic to dogs, please let me know.
Bring with you a list of medications you are taking, with the dosage you use, as well as information about any recent dental treatment. Including natural remedies, herbs, supplements or complementary treatments you use regularly.
My husband, Andrew, is a Professional Coach (andrewmrichards.com); he works online from home, from a different part of the property.
CONSULTATION
What to expect from your appointment
I will email you several new patient forms to complete and return to me before your appointment. Payment is via BACS before your appointment.
Your first consultation will last up to 90 minutes. The number of appointments you need depends on how long you have experienced your symptoms; a chronic condition may require a longer course of treatment. Further follow-ups are often at progressively longer intervals.
Each person receives an individualised treatment strategy. Homeopathic remedies treat symptoms; when symptoms are gone, no need for a remedy.
I will post your medicine with clear instructions on how to take what I have prescribed to you, within a couple of days of your appointment; local patients may collect it from Plum Tree House. If I need to order something special in for you it can take a little longer, but you should receive it within a week of your appointment. You can contact me via WhatsApp with any changes you experience and updates on your progress to inform your next appointment or I may adjust your treatment if appropriate.
This your time; a safe, confidential place for you to explore how you feel both emotionally and physically about your ill-health. I will ask you about yourself, which symptoms you most want to improve, and why. I will write down your answers, as they influence the homeopathic remedy you need. I will ask about your likes, dislikes, hobbies; your individuality, which directs your treatment.
At your follow-up appointment you may feel the same or have nothing to report. However, as we talk, you may notice changes. Unbearable, life restricting symptoms can fall away unnoticed as the remedy takes effect. If nothing has changed, you may need longer to respond to your remedy, or I may need to adjust or change it. Your treatment is led by your response.
MY COMMITMENT
My commitment to you
I will do my best to help you, responding to the needs of your ill health with homeopathy, increasing the strength of your remedy if needed or prescribing a different one. I will use books, homeopathic software and my own experience, to choose the treatment you need.
Attending seminars and webinars on Homeopathy is important to me. I keep up to date with new developments in the homeopathic and health communities and network regularly with colleagues. Regularly learning new and exciting information stimulates and challenges my practice. I choose to be part of the Society of Homeopaths as I believe in being part of a professional community which works to high standards and policies.
